Project A Week 2

This should have been posted like last week, but I was a slacker. Here is my second project a week. It was intended to be made in the blue tie dye material with a pink heart on the front. When I was attaching the heart, the blue material was getting destroyed. I was using the wrong size needle. Disgusted, I walked away and came back a day later. I decided to cut the area out where the material had holes and substitute it with the pink intended for the heart. I can live with it and she is happy so it's all good. I used my serger and did a rolled hem for the sleeves and the bottom hem. I used NL 6639 and it is a little big. I wanted it to be long (added 2 inches) because when she wears jeans and bends over - we get a little surprise. Next time I'll cut a smaller size and only add 1 inch. I also used this pattern to make the top for my daughter Halloween Costume when she went as Word Girl in 08.

Project a week 3 is a matching skirt - I ran out of thread at the end so I will post later this week.

Project A Week 1

I know I was suppose to check in during mid-week to give an update on my project of the week. The kids were pretty challenging last week so my energy was spent trying to deal with them in a civilized way. The Little Guy is starting to break away from naps so my days are little more interesting since I don't have that 1.5 to 2 hour break I SO relied on. When he goes to preschool twice a week he naps and therefore won't go to sleep until 11 pm. He's killing me! Oh yeah, he dumped grass seed in the very large fish tank at school. Thank goodness the fish are still swimming.

I did complete a small project. I crocheted 2 small dishcloths. I did one with a H hook and the other with an I (notice the size difference). The one done with the H hook is tighter and should offer a little scrubby power. I will make a few more and probably gift them by adding some type of natural cleaning products (my favs are Ms. Meyers, Caldrea, and Seventh Generation).

Project Specs
Yarn - Sugar 'n Cream Naturals (100% Cotton)
Stitch - half-double crochet
Hook Size - H & I
Finished Size - "6x6" and 6.5"x6.5"

As you can see I still need to weave in the edges. I really like the organic look of these.
