Back

I've been on Spring Break 09 for a minute huh? The kids came back and it takes about a week to get them back into the swing of things. When they stay with the grandparents its like a all-inclusive resort - so they come back a tad bit spoiled. The decibel level in the house has returned, sibling squabbles are frequent, and peaceful sleep is sketchy. But there are cheeks to be kissed, bellies, armpits and toes to be tickled and endless games of hide-n-go-seek to be played. Yep, life is normal again. I even had 3 babysitting gigs last week so that made life even more exciting. These were barters so they will watch our little ones in return when we need a break. I'm back...

Goldie

She's finally here! Meet Goldie and she's mine all mine. Ain't she pretty. She is replacing my Kodak Easyshare that was umm...bootleg. It was run over by a car, lost, and dropped several times by every family member. Somehow through all of that it still took pictures. The LCD screen was broken and the menu button did not respond (this did not matter because you couldn't see what you selected anyway). When I wanted to take a picture I had to turn the camera on and walk away because the it took 2 minutes for the lens to open. I know...bootleg. I would take a pic and my little guy would scream with delight, "Let me see mommy." Sorry baby, but the camera is broken - even though he heard this 100 times he would forget and ask to see after each shot. So sad, but today is a new day because Goldie is here. I can't wait to use her.

Happy New Year!

Can you believe it is 2009? Wow! I been walking around reflecting on the last year. I've learned a lot from good and bad situations and have grown. My family has taught me so much and I love them to death. I still have a long way to go and haven't totally decided what I want to be when I grow up:) But I'm good - content with who I am and what I have. Of course, there is always room for improvement and I plan to do a little upgrading LOL. I am really excited about the new year - there is something refreshing about starting over. Ahhh....

Happy Thanksgiving

I have so much to be thankful for today - family, friends, health, church home, home, and so on. I may not have everything I want but I definitely have everything I need!
I plan to eat quite a bit today. I worked out this week and last so I would be ready for Thanksgiving (LOL). I even cooked lighter meals. Enjoy your Thanksgiving.
Please remember to pray for those in need.

Cheers!

God Bless America

I am so excited about our new President Elect - Barack Obama or as my little guys says "Rock Obamba". This is such a historic moment. I was really touched by the global reaction to his win. America let's unite and learn to work together so that we can continue to be the great nation that we are.

YES WE CAN! YES WE WILL!
GOD BLESS AMERICA.

Halloween

It's officially Halloween and I am still not done with my little girl's costume. Arrggghhh! Going to bed now and will be back at it in the morning - um that's a few hours from now. I'll have pics later on today or tomorrow. Later!

Rock the Vote

I voted today! I am so excited. My Hubby voted first and then came home to take care of the kids so I could vote. We both waited 1.5 hours and he got their at 6:15 in the morning. My daughter's Pre-K class will be holding elections next week on Election Day. I think this is so cute. I am told daily who she is going to vote for and why. I am going to be so anxious next Tuesday evening. Make sure you get out and VOTE.

The Plan

The kids are with the grandparents and will be staying a week. Yippeee! The hubby and I already went out to a local Mexican Restaurant and just kicked back. I have a serious To Do list though my hubby said I need to rest. I'll work that in somewhere. I plan to do some serious sewing. I consider myself an advanced beginner and so desperately want my skills to improve. The only way that can happen is by what -- sewing! My wardrobe is in serious need of some updating. I don't think I ever really adjusted my clothes to my SAHM role that I have been in for about 10 months now. I would like to be a chic SAHM. One can dream right. Here are the other things I plan to accomplish this week:
  • Major Spring Cleaning
  • Decluttering
  • Wardrobe Bootcamp - modified version
  • Blogging
  • DIY Home Projects
  • Home Organization - Meal planning, vacation planning, calendar of 2008 events
  • Plan Graduation Party
  • Plan Birthday Party
  • Sewing - I know I mentioned that above
  • Date night(s) with Hubby
  • Daily Devotion
