Super Trash Day Rocks

Does anyone else have super trash or junk day in their neighborhood? Ours was this past Saturday. Our waste management is pretty strict in my "hood". You have to purchase special trash bags and if you don't they will not pick up your trash. On super trash day you can leave anything out that you want to get rid of, large or small without arranging a special pick-up. People put their stuff out Friday night and the neighbors "go shopping". It is so funny to see people scoping out the goods. There is plenty of junk but you can find some great stuff. I am not above taking someone's else trash and turning it into a treasure but my husband thinks I'm insane. I can be a little green and yes I'm frugal when it comes to certain things . However I like the idea of transforming something into something new. Anyway I knew what I was looking for this year. I wanted a table so the kids could stand up & do art work or crafts.
A multipurpose table that was their size. Look what I found:

Perfect - a miniture game table. At first I only saw the table and told the hubby he would have to fit a piece a plywood to get a flat surface but then I discovered the table tennis top. Score!!! It's a little big for my little guy but great for my daughter. It had some electrical wiring underneath it for the air hockey feature but removed all of that. I also found a old magazine rack that I will use to store books - mine or the kids. Someone was getting rid of brand new folding doors and we swiped them to make a ramp for the children to ride down on their riding toys.
I do have rules - I will only get things that I can use immediately and that don't require a lot of DIY elbow grease. I know that I don't have the time right now. Does anyone else do any curbside rescues or fine diving (check out this blog if you are into this). Oh yeah everything must be thoroughly cleaned before entering our home - therefore all items are still outside - LOL.
