A Magic Moment

Is it okay to backblog? Well I'm doing it. I want to capture a significant event that happened this year.
Some fathers can not wait until their first born utters their first word or learns to walk. For others it is that first day of school or learning to ride a bike. For mine husband, it is skiing. He has been anxiously awaiting for my daughter to get on skis. He researched the proper age that she could attend ski school and talked to a ski instructor to get tips. That magical moment happened in February during our trip to Snowshoe, WV.

It wasn't all magical -- there was a little bit of mayhem mixed in. She only lasted 45 minutes in ski school (which is 3 hours long). It was a "no skin exposure" day so it was pretty rough conditions. They took a break for hot cocoa and she told the instructor that she was not going back out there. My hubby took this news like a champ and let her ski around with him for the rest of the day. The next morning she declared she didn't want to go skiing anymore. Uh-oh. After much encouragement we got her back out there for 2 more days and she loved it. She saw daddy do a jump and she said "Look daddy, I can do that too," and did a little jump. It was so cute. It was truly a special occasion for my hubby.
