Fun Being "Green"

One of our favorite little hangouts is a community run garden not far from our house. The kids love to feed the chickens & help me dump our fruit and veggie scraps into the compost pile.


There is all kind of cool stuff for the kids to get into and they explore every inch of that place. Last year someone started building a earthen playhouse for the children's area. We watched this thing get built by hand with mud & straw over a series of months. Yes I said by HAND. It's pretty amazing.


I hope they gain an appreciation for the earth and learn to respect it. I'm not super green by any means but I try to do a little and want the kids to be aware.
